Ignore your American friends when they try to tell you it’s just a Chrysler 200 Convertible wearing Lancia badges, they’re all just jealous. The Lancia Flavia Cabrio is set to make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show , along with a host of other new Lancia products. The 175-horsepower 2.4-liter I4 and six-speed automatic transmission come standard, and will make sure to push your butt back into its fine, fine (optional) leather. Sure, you can use the whole seat… but you’ll only need the edge. Check out the Lancia Flavia Cabrio in all its high-resolution glory in the gallery. There you’ll also get to check out the new Thema, Voyager, Ypsilon and Delta. Rock on! *Update: engine layout corrected to I4 Continue reading Chrysler 200 Convertible reborn as Lancia Flavia Cabrio for Frankfurt Chrysler 200 Convertible reborn as Lancia Flavia Cabrio for Frankfurt originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 02 Sep 2011 16:01:00 EST. Chrysler 200 sedan staying home, only convertible going to Europe

Filed under: Convertible , Etc. , Europe , Chrysler , Lancia , Fiat Fiat is getting ready to stick For Sale signs on the Chrysler 200 in the European market. However, it seems only the 200 Convertible will be making the trip across the pond, where it will wear Lancia Flavia badging. Why is the sedan stuck stateside? Fiat executives find it too costly to add a diesel option, and feel the 200 sedan won’t sell well without an oil-burning powerplant under the hood. The convertible, however, is viewed as an attractive offering (in a manner of speaking) despite the gas-only powerplant. Good news, American business travelers – you can now rent yourself a droptop Sebring 2.0 while jet-setting in Europe, too. Video: Lancia Thema ad embraces Chrysler partnership, history

The first allusion in the ad is not to the original Lancia Thema, but to the 1950s Chrysler 300 – a bold move for Lancia . Despite the fact that there is very little Lancia to the new Thema, the addition of Chrysler’s pedigree to its marketing campaign is an interesting move. The only question is, will Lancia loyalists buy it? Check it out for yourself after the jump . Geneva 2011: 2012 Lancia Ypsilon is a tiny taste of things to come

Filed under: Geneva Motor Show , Europe , Hatchback , Chrysler , Lancia 2012 Lancia Ypsilon – Click above for high-res image gallery Take a good long look at the Lancia Ypsilon . If not because it’s a vital new product for one of the oldest marques in autodom, then because it’s also slated to wear a Chrysler badge one day soon. That Lancia and Chrysler are getting closer than a couple of drunk teens after the prom is no longer a secret. They share a common CEO – both at the group and brand levels – and will act as each-other’s agents in their respective markets (not unlike their counterparts at General Motors’ Vauxhall , Opel and Holden units). Vehicles we know as Chrysler models will soon be sold in Europe under Lancia’s umbrella. This car will be marketed as a Lancia in contental Europe, as a Chrysler in the UK, and possibly as a Chrysler in the States as well. We ran through the full details of the new Ypsilon a couple of weeks ago when Lancia dropped the details, but if you want to see this upscale five-door Fiat 500 platform-mate looks outside the studio and on the floor of the Geneva Motor Show , click through our live gallery below.
