Hyundai Elantra GT Named “2013 Car of the Americas”
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT was recently named the 2013 Car of the Americas by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalists. The award was announced during the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
“Elantra GT truly showcases how Hyundai is redefining the compact car and setting new standards in automotive design, efficiency and functionality,” Mike O’Brien, vice president of Product and Corporate Planning for Hyundai Motor America, told media. “We are honored that this unique and diverse group of journalists in over two continents have recognized the Elantra GT’s positive impact on the global automotive industry.”
The 2013 Hyunda Elantra GT is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed SHIFTRONIC transmission. This high-performing sporty car has a fuel rating of 27 MPG in the city, 37 MPG on the highway and a combined rating of 30 MPG with the automatic transmission.
